Kali Bailey grew up in the south. An accomplished writer and director, it’s Kali’s unique regional perspective combined with a strong LGBTQ voice that makes her work compelling.

As an unabashed sci-fi and fantasy fan, Kali wrote and directed her passion project, “Neville Longbottom and the Black Witch” - her salute to the beloved “Harry Potter” franchise. The 17-minute fan film has proven to be irresistible. With viewers of the film calling it “a masterpiece” it’s already nearing 3 million views. 

Kali refers to herself as a filmmaking “Swiss Army Knife” having cut her teeth as a feature film AD, screenwriter and editor. This experience harnesses an extensive knowledge of the filmmaking process informing her powerful and emotive stories. Kali describes her sweet-spot as “action/adventure with heart.”

Her latest projects include directing a short film for Disney’s International Women’s Day celebration, as well as co-writing a feature film set for release in summer 2020.
